MOTION IN ONE DIMENSION || books1263

Hey Friend

I am Aryan and your welcome in our blog..

SO LETS BEGIN:

REST AND MOTION:

If you look around in our classroom,we see may things. All these do not appear to move;they are said to be at rest. In physics, a body is said to at rest if it does not change its position with respect to a fixed point taken as a reference point in its surroundings.
For example: a book lying on a table,if not disturbed by anybody does not change its position with respect to the table.

A body is said to be in motion if it changes its position with respect to a fixed point taken as a reference point in its surroundings.

ONE DIMENSIONAL MOTION:
The motion of an object is said to be one dimensional motion if only one out of the three coordinates specifying the position of the object changes with respect to time.

SCALAR AND VECTOR QUANTITY:

Scalar quantity:

A physical quantity which is described completely by its magnitude only is called scalar quantity. For example: length, time, area, speed and energy.

Vector quantity:

A physical quantity which requires both magnitude and direction for its complete description is called a vector quantity.Examples:displacement, velocity, acceleration and momentum.
