ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE:
I am Aryan and your welcome in our blog.. (books1263)..
ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE:
- The atmosphere pressure is defined as the weight of the column of air at any give place and time.
- The atmospheric pressure is measured with the help of a barometer, which can be mercurial ,aneroid, barograph, etc. The normal atmospheric pressure at the sea levels is the weight of the column of mercury 76 cm high.
- The atmospheric pressure is measured in millibars. One millibar is equal to the force of one gram of air over one square cm area. The normal pressure at the sea level is 1013 millibars.
Like temperature, the atmospheric pressure also varies from place to place and from time to time.
- The atmospheric pressure decreases with increase in temperature and vice-versa.
- It also decreases with increase in the altitude.
- The humid air exerts less pressure then the dry air.
- The rotation of the Earth on its axis also modifies the distribution of atmospheric pressure on the Earth surface.
